How it works
We don't plug into every device directly. Instead we read from the two hubs almost everything already feeds into: Apple Health and Strava. Connecting either one gets you started, and if your device can feed both, connect both for the fullest picture.
- Apple Health carries the full picture: workouts, heart rate, sleep, recovery, steps, and calories, whatever your device chooses to write.
- Strava carries activities and workouts only: your runs, rides, and gym sessions with GPS and pace. It does not carry recovery, HRV, or sleep.
| Device | Apple Health | Strava |
|---|---|---|
| Oura | Sleep, heart rate, respiratory rate, steps, calories, workouts | Not a reliable path |
| Whoop | Recovery, strain, sleep, resting HR, blood oxygen, respiratory rate | Activities only |
| Suunto | Steps, calories, heart rate | Activities (first-class) |
| Garmin | Steps, heart rate, workouts, sleep, calories | Activities (first-class) |
Oura
Use Apple Health. It's the only bridge that carries Oura's data.
Turn on Apple Health
- Open the Oura app and tap the menu (three lines) on the home screen.
- Tap Settings, then under Data sharing tap Apple Health.
- Turn on Connect to Health.
- On the Apple Health permission screen, allow the categories you want to share, then tap Allow.
Good to know: Oura sends sleep, heart rate, respiratory rate, steps, calories, and workouts to Apple Health. Its Readiness score and HRV stay inside the Oura app, so those won't appear in Let's Gooo, but everything above will.
Whoop
Use Apple Health for recovery and sleep. Strava only carries your workouts.
Turn on Apple Health (recommended)
- Open the Whoop app menu and tap Integrations.
- Select Apple Health and toggle it on to share your Sleep, Recovery, and Strain.
- If data doesn't appear, open the Apple Health app → profile icon → Apps → WHOOP and make sure its toggles are on.
Optional: also send workouts to Strava
- In the Whoop app go to More › App Settings › Integrations and select Strava.
- Connect your Strava account and choose which activities to share.
Important: Whoop's recovery, strain, HRV, and sleep only travel over Apple Health, not Strava. If you want your Whoop data in Let's Gooo, connect Apple Health. (In most versions this includes your nightly sleep as well.)
Suunto
Strava is the cleanest path for your activities. Apple Health adds day-to-day metrics.
Connect Strava (recommended)
- Open the Suunto app and go to Profile.
- Tap Partner services, then Strava.
- Sign in to Strava and authorize the connection.
Once connected, activities you record on your Suunto watch upload to Strava automatically, and Let's Gooo reads them from there.
Optional: Apple Health for daily metrics
- On your iPhone, open Settings › Health › Data Access & Devices › Suunto app.
- Turn on the categories you want to share (typically steps, calories, and heart rate).
Note: Suunto's Apple Health support is lighter than Strava's, and activities may come across without GPS. For your workouts, Strava is the better path, but connecting both gives Let's Gooo the fullest picture.
Garmin
Both bridges work. Strava is easiest for activities; Apple Health adds steps, sleep, and HR.
Connect Strava (recommended)
- Open the Strava app and go to the You tab, then Settings (gear icon).
- Tap Connect an App or Device, choose Garmin, then Connect Garmin.
- Sign in to Garmin Connect and accept the permissions.
After the first sync, new Garmin activities flow to Strava automatically, and Let's Gooo picks them up.
Optional: also connect Apple Health
- In the Garmin Connect app, tap More, then Settings › Connected Apps.
- Choose Apple Health and turn on the categories you want (steps, heart rate, workouts, sleep, calories).
- Tap Allow on the Apple Health permission screen.
Connect both for the fullest picture: Strava for your GPS activities, Apple Health for everyday steps, heart rate, and sleep.
Something else
If your device isn't listed, the same rule gets you connected.
- Check whether your device's app can write to Apple Health. Most can. Look in its settings for an Apple Health, Health, or Connections / Integrations option and turn it on. That brings your workouts, heart rate, and sleep into Let's Gooo.
- If your device records GPS activities, see whether it can connect to Strava. Once your runs and rides land in Strava, Let's Gooo reads them too.
- Then open Let's Gooo and make sure Apple Health and/or Strava are connected in your settings.
Remember: Apple Health carries recovery, HRV, and sleep; Strava carries activities. If your device can feed both, connect both for the fullest picture.
