How it works

Most fitness apps treat your strength work like it happens in a vacuum. It doesn't. You run, you ride, you ski, you climb, and the strength training is supposed to keep all of that going, not bury it under one more thing to recover from.

Let's Gooo is built around that idea. You have one coach for your whole training week. You tell them what you're training for and what your life actually looks like, and they build strength work that fits around it. When something changes, a new injury, a trip, a season that just started, you tell them and they reshape the plan. You always have the final say.

The whole app runs on one loop, built around your goals:

No forms to wrestle with, no rigid template to fall off of. The more your coach knows, the better the plan fits, so the setup below is worth a few minutes up front.

Do it yourself

Most of what your coach changes, you can also change by hand. Each section below has a short "Do it yourself" box with the steps. The ones people look for most:

Getting Started

When you first open the app, your coach asks a few questions: what you're training for, what else fills your week (runs, rides, climbing, yoga), any injuries to work around, and what equipment you have. Then they build your first program from your answers. Already following a plan? You can import it instead.

The more your coach knows, the better that first program fits, and everything below makes it fit better as you go.

Fill out your profile

Your experience level, goals, injuries, and available equipment all shape what your coach builds for you. If you have a bad knee, your coach won't program deep squats. If you only have dumbbells at home, they won't suggest cable exercises.

Set up your locations

If you work out in different places (a commercial gym, a home gym, a hotel when traveling), add each one as a location with its available equipment. You can do this in Settings, or just tell your coach:

I work out at a gym that has barbells, dumbbells, cables, and machines
Add a home gym location with just dumbbells and a pull-up bar

Your coach uses your locations to make sure they only program exercises you can actually do.

Connect your activity trackers

Link Strava, or your Apple Watch and Apple Health, so your coach knows about your runs, rides, and other activities and can build your strength work around what you're already doing. Other devices work too, as long as they sync to Strava or to your iPhone.

Shape your first program

Your first program is a starting point, not a contract. Open the Home tab and tell your coach what to change. Be specific about your goals, schedule, and preferences.

Example prompts

Make it 4 days a week instead of 3.
Ski season starts in December. Shift the focus to legs and balance.
I'm training for a half marathon. Keep the lifting from wrecking my legs for running.
I have a shoulder impingement, take out anything overhead.
Keep every workout under an hour.
I'm coming back from a long break. Start me easier and build up over the next 8 weeks.
Turn this into a 6-week upper/lower program that alternates heavy and light weeks.

Your coach shows you the change before it's applied, and you always have the final say. Want a different kind of plan altogether? Ask for one, like Build me a push/pull/legs split.

Do it yourself

Start a plan without your coach

  1. Open the Training tab and tap Create Manually.
  2. Name the workout, tap Add Exercise for each exercise you want, then tap Save. Your first workout goes into a plan called My Training.
  3. To add more workouts, tap the ⋯ menu at the top of the Training tab and choose Add Workout.
  4. Pick the days for each workout with Edit schedule.

Already have a plan and want a clean start? Open ⋯ › Plan Info and tap Archive Training Plan. It moves to the archive and you can restore it any time. Then tap Create Manually. You can also bring in workouts from another app with Import Workouts in the same menu.

Your coaches

Let's Gooo has a few coaches you can train with. Each has a different style and voice, but they all work the same way: you chat, they build, and you always have the final say. Pick the coach whose approach fits you, and switch any time.

Adapting as You Go

Most workout apps give you a routine and expect you to follow it forever. Let's Gooo is different. Your training adapts to your life, not the other way around.

You're never stuck with a workout that doesn't fit today. Your routine from last week was designed for last week. Today is different. Maybe you did a big bike ride yesterday. Maybe your lower back is tight. Maybe you only have 30 minutes instead of an hour. Maybe the workout has gotten too easy.

Instead of pushing through or skipping the gym entirely, open your workout and tell your coach what's going on:

I'm still sore from Monday's leg day · My shoulder is flaring up today · I only have 30 minutes · I went on a hard 50-mile ride yesterday, go easy on my legs · This workout has gotten too easy, make it harder · I don't have access to cables today

Your coach knows your workout, your recent training, and your history. Based on what you tell them, they'll either:

You can see all versions of a routine right on the routine page. Over time, you might have your standard Push Day, a home version, a quick version, and a deload version, all branched from the same base, each with its own workout history.

Change a goal's target or check-in date

Open the Progress tab and tap the goal under Goals.

  • A benchmark's target. Under Goal benchmarks, tap Edit target on the benchmark (or Set target if it has none yet). Enter the new number and tap Save. The button appears on benchmarks measured as a number.
  • A new reading. Tap Log a value on the benchmark to record where you are today.
  • The check-in date. Tap the pencil at the top right to open Edit Goal. Under Details, change Next check-in, or tap Clear check-in date. Tap Done. When a check-in is due, the review card on the goal page also has a quiet or set the next check-in yourself link that opens the same editor.

If your coach suggested a schedule change at a check-in, make it with Edit schedule. For a change to the exercises, see changing the exercises in a workout. Only your coach adds new benchmarks. The ones you have, you can edit.

This is what makes the app different. You aren't following a static plan. You're having an ongoing conversation with a coach who adapts with you, session to session, week to week, month to month.

Programs

A program is a collection of routines that work together as a training plan.

Rotating Programs

Your routines cycle endlessly: do routine A, B, C, then back to A. Great for ongoing splits with no end date.

Try

Build me a push/pull/legs split
Create an upper/lower program, 4 days a week

Multi-Week Programs

Training that progresses over a set number of weeks. Each week has its own routines, and the app advances you automatically.

Try

Build me an 8-week strength program
Create a 4-week hypertrophy block with a deload in week 4

How Programs Work

Modifying Programs

Change a program through chat at any time:

Add a mobility day · Remove the Friday session · Swap the order of push and pull days · Add a deload week at the end · Change all routines to shorter rest periods · Restart from week 1

RPE Tracking

Rate of Perceived Exertion (1 to 10 scale) for how hard a set felt. Enable in Settings. Your coach uses your RPE data for smarter progression suggestions.

Personal Records

Automatically detected during your workout:

PRs are celebrated with visual feedback when you log the set.

Exercise Library

305 built-in exercises, each with form instructions, cues, common mistakes, muscle groups, and video links. You can also create your own custom exercises.

Coaching Notes

When you ask your coach about form or technique, they may save a note on that exercise. These notes appear automatically the next time you do that exercise in a workout.

During Your Workout

Logging Sets

Enter your weight and reps, then mark the set complete. The app auto-fills from your last session so you can tap through quickly if nothing changed.

Rest Timers

Mid-Workout Changes

Modify your workout on the fly without changing the routine template. Swap an exercise, adjust rest times, or skip an exercise.

Try

My shoulder feels off, what can I do instead of overhead press?

Do it yourself

Change today's workout as you go

  • Swap, skip, or remove an exercise. Tap the ⋯ on the exercise and choose Swap Exercise, Skip Exercise, or Remove Exercise.
  • Add an exercise. Tap Add Exercise at the bottom of the workout, above Finish Workout.

These changes are for today. If you changed the exercises, the app asks when you finish: This session only, Save going forward (future workouts use this version), or Save as a new version.

Live Heart Rate

If you wear a heart rate monitor, you'll see your heart rate live during the session, with your zones as you move through the work. It's there while you train, not just a summary after.

Pre-Workout Briefing

Before you start, your coach reviews your recent training and suggests target weights, things to watch for, and how this session fits into your week.

Post-Workout Analysis

After you finish, your coach analyzes your session: volume changes, PRs, recovery notes, and suggestions for next time.

Importing Workouts

Bring your history from other apps:

SourceHow
HevyExport CSV from Hevy, import in Settings
StrongExport CSV from Strong, import in Settings
